How to Submit Sitemap To Google Search Console (Easy Guide 2020)


Basically,the XML Sitemap file feeds search engines all web pages that exist on your website or blog. Google, Bing and other search engines can use these sitemap files to discover pages on your site that their search bots may have otherwise missed during regular crawling.

Otherwise,we should continue cos presumably you understand how important submitting your Sitemap to Google Console is before coming right here. I'll move right to the first step.

  • STEP 1

I strongly recommend to create you your Sitemap. But if you've already created it. Please skip this step to the next; otherwise head right here> 
Type in your website URL and create Sitemap.

  • STEP 2 
  1. Login your Google search console..
  2. Click on Add Property and enter your Site URL
  3. If that's done; click on Sitemaps.

If you created your Sitemap with as I recommended your sitemap should look like this.

User-agent: *
Disallow: /search
Allow: /
  4. Add
  5. Then Submit.

If done accurately you should see a screen telling you you've successfully added your Sitemap to Google search console.

Next, go to your dashboard, navigate to Settings –> Search Preferences, enable Custom robots.txt option (available in the Crawling and Indexing section). Paste the entire XML sitemap here and save your changes.
